Inner Child Work in NYC – Healing Old Wounds with Compassion
Therapy to reconnect with your inner child, release old pain, and build self-acceptance.
Many struggles we face as adults—anxiety, low self-worth, difficulties in relationships—often trace back to unmet needs or painful experiences from childhood. Inner child work offers a gentle and powerful way to heal these wounds and reconnect with the parts of yourself that still long for care and compassion.
What Is Inner Child Work?
Inner child work is a therapeutic process that helps you recognize and nurture the younger parts of yourself that may carry pain, fear, or unmet needs. Instead of pushing these feelings away, we create space to listen, understand, and respond with compassion. This work can be deeply healing, bringing relief to old emotional patterns and helping you build a more grounded sense of self.
How Inner Child Work Helps
Through inner child work, you may:
Heal wounds from childhood experiences and family dynamics
Reduce anxiety, shame, or self-criticism rooted in early life
Build a stronger sense of self-worth and inner safety
Develop more authentic and fulfilling relationships
Cultivate self-compassion and resilience
My Approach
In inner child work, I draw from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) to create a safe and compassionate space where younger parts of you can finally be seen, heard, and cared for. Rather than only analyzing the past, we gently invite these parts into the room—through the emotions, sensations, and longings that still live in you today.
This process allows you to offer your inner child what may have been missing: comfort, protection, and unconditional acceptance. As these younger parts receive the care they longed for, many clients experience a deep sense of relief, self-connection, and emotional healing that extends into their present life and relationships.
