Trauma Treatment with ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)
Find Relief Without Rehashing Painful Memories
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a structured, brief therapy designed to reduce trauma and emotional distress—without needing to talk through painful memories in detail.
ART combines guided imagery and bilateral eye movements (similar to those in REM sleep) to help the brain reprocess distressing experiences at the nervous system level. Many clients experience meaningful relief in just 1–5 sessions, with long-lasting effects.
A Short-Term, Evidence-Based Approach to Healing
How ART Works
ART uses horizontal eye movements and visualization to reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories. These movements support neuroplasticity, helping the brain “update” how those memories are stored and experienced.
You don’t have to relive or explain your trauma. Instead, you’ll be guided to replace troubling images with ones that feel safer or more empowering—resulting in less emotional and physical reactivity.
You remain in control throughout, and each session is paced to support emotional safety.

What ART Can Help With
ART has been shown to be effective for:
PTSD and trauma (combat, abuse, accidents)
Anxiety, panic, and phobias
Depression and complicated grief
OCD and intrusive thoughts
Addictions and substance use
My Approach
While AEDP is my primary therapy model, I offer ART as a complementary option for clients seeking a focused, time-limited approach to trauma healing.
ART can be used as a standalone treatment or integrated into our ongoing work—we’ll decide together what feels most supportive for you.
ART sessions are typically 90 minutes to allow sufficient time for the process.
Why Choose ART?
Fast relief: Many clients notice improvement within 1–5 sessions
No detailed retelling: Ideal if talk therapy has felt retraumatizing
You stay in charge: Sessions are safe, structured, and client-paced
